Older adult life is a time of transitions. Many older adults experience losses and illnesses that can lead to emotional, behavioral and cognitive challenges. Our expert care team can diagnose and treat these conditions. Our goals are to help patients improve mental/cognitive health and enhance their quality of life. As the only multi-disciplinary, specialized, geriatric psychiatry practice in Maine, we support a large and growing population.

Maine Medical Center's Outpatient Geriatric Psychiatry Service provides timely assessments, expert evaluation and treatment to individuals who experience psychiatric or co-occurring substance-abuse disorders.

All new appointments can be scheduled through the Outpatient Psychiatry Intake/Referral Center at 207-662-2221. Assistance for making a referral and matching your needs to the best type of service will be provided.
