Complaints

If you believe your privacy rights have been violated, you may file a complaint in writing. Please mail it to the address listed above. You may also contact the Privacy Office at the local hospital system where you have a grievance, or with the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services. All complaints must be submitted in writing. You will not be penalized for filing a complaint.

The new rules are effective December 4, 2020 for Southern Maine Health Care locations and medical practices. They are intended to safeguard patients, visitors and staff during the ongoing pandemic.
