If you or someone you know is experiencing a life-threatening behavioral health crisis, call 911 or go to your local hospital emergency department

Specially-trained crisis responders are available at MaineHealth emergency departments to assess and assist people experiencing conditions such as:

  • Substance use overdose
  • Desire to harm self or others
  • Severe psychiatric disorders

Referrals to inpatient psychiatric facilities are available when appropriate.
