Our multidisciplinary team includes board-certified psychiatrists, licensed clinicians and other care providers who work collaboratively to support people in our community who are experiencing behavioral health challenges, illnesses and co-occurring disorders.Services include:
- Inpatient psychiatry
- Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT)
- Emergency psychiatry
- Outpatient psychiatry and telehealth-based treatment
- Consultation to health care professionals
- Partial hospitalization services
- Portland identification & early psychosis (PIER) Program
MMC’s affiliations with national and regional universities and colleges allows psychiatric residents, fellows, nurse practitioners, nurses, psychologists, social workers, and medical students to participate in treatment and care delivery in a dynamic educational environment. Our association with the Tufts University School of Medicine allows us to play a significant role in the psychiatric education of Tufts medical students who are enrolled in the Maine Track of the Tufts University School of Medicine. The Department of Psychiatry offers Accreditation Council certified Graduate Medical Education for four years of postgraduate training through the General Psychiatry Residency Program, as well as a two-year Child and Adolescent Fellowship Training Program.
