Oncology and Infusion Therapy

The oncology teams at Waldo County General Hospital and Pen Bay Medical Center have been forming complete circles of care around cancer patients and their families for over 65 years. For surgery, treatment, recovery, education and support, you can count on our team beside you.

Waldo County General Hospital’s Oncology and Infusion Therapy Department

Our oncology department offers an extensive array of services provided by skilled chemotherapy-certified registered nurses, secretaries and social workers, who provide compassionate support and continuous patient education to assist patients being treated for serious, complex diseases.

We provide the following oncology services for patients diagnosed with cancer:

  • Oncology/Hematology
  • Oncology/Hematology assessments and follow up by board-certified oncologist and nurse practitioner
  • Chemotherapy infusions by certified chemotherapy registered nurses
  • Central line maintenance
  • Blood transfusions, intravenous therapy and injections

Sigrid E. Berg, MD, MPH

Sigrid E. Berg, MD, MPH, earned her medical degree from the Duke University School of Medicine and her masters of public health degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received her residency training in Internal Medicine at Johns Hopkins Hospital and her fellowship training in Hematology and Medical Oncology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Katrina Tozier, DNP

Katrina Tozier, DNP, CNP, AOCNP, ACHPN, recently completed her Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP) with a subspecialty in oncology from the University of South Alabama. In June 2018, Dr. Tozier completed her Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner Certification through the Oncology Nurse Certification Corporation and in January 2019 she completed her Hospice and Palliative Nurse Certification through the Hospice and Palliative Credentialing Center.
