Neurological Surgery Residency

The mission of the MaineHealth Maine Medical Center (MHMMC) neurological surgery residency program is to train the next generation of neurosurgeons to provide safe, efficient, cost-effective, outcome-oriented care for patients.

Expert training for the next generation of neurosurgeons

Our dynamic training platform teaches not just surgical skills, but a thought process that allows the incorporation of experience and data—preparing graduates for the challenges they will face in their careers. It is our philosophy to provide individualized clinical and research opportunities for each resident, challenging the status quo on resident education while maintaining adherence to the common program requirements.

By providing a wide range of high-quality training opportunities, our residency program prepares young physicians to become well-rounded neurological surgeons. Through close mentoring, we aim to provide strong role models that our neurosurgery residents can emulate. We want to develop our residents as good, ethical and truthful people, focusing on both their personal and professional growth and allowing for lifelong career satisfaction.
