MaineHealth Cancer Care

We’re continuing to build the largest network of cancer care specialists in Northern New England to make sure the best treatment is always close to home. MaineHealth Cancer Care is expanding and integrating our services and deepening our commitment to patients and their families who are fighting cancer together. MaineHealth Cancer Care provides the advanced care Mainers need - from Sanford to Mid Coast.
MaineHeath Cancer Care offers integrated medical oncology and hematology services—providing diagnosis, treatment, care coordination and support for patients throughout their cancer journey. We are part of the MaineHealth Cancer Care Network, an integrated care system that delivers highly-coordinated, state-of-the-art, cancer care close to home.
Our board-certified providers and compassionate staff understand the needs and concerns of cancer patients and their families. At MaineHealth Cancer Care, we want patients to feel comfortable with their care team and confident that they are receiving the most clinically-advanced treatment possible. We also believe in shared-decision making. That's why we work with patients and their families to develop highly-individualized treatment strategies that meet each patient's unique needs and preferences.
What is medical oncology?
Medical oncology is a critical component in modern cancer care. Oncologists play an important role in care plan development, managing therapies as well as coordinating care among other cancer specialists who focus on prevention, treatment, and clinical trials. Learn more about clinical trials.
What is hematology?
Hematologists are specifically trained in the diagnosis and treatment of blood disorders. This includes conditions affecting red and white blood cells, platelets, lymph nodes, bone marrow, blood vessels, and the spleen.
Seamless Care Coordination
MaineHealth Cancer Care provides radiation therapy, IV therapy, and blood disorder services. We also maintain close communication with each patient’s primary care provider and care team. Our practice coordinates needed care at other cancer care locations, including Portland, Scarborough, Sanford, Biddeford, and Bath. Our cancer support service also includes patient navigators and social workers.
