The MaineHealth Maine Medical Center (MHMMC) Sports Medicine Fellowship is an ACGME accredited primary care sports medicine fellowship open to graduates of accredited programs in family medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine and emergency medicine. Teaching and consulting faculty are drawn from MHMMC and MaineHealth Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.
The fellowship consists of a one year track. Primary clinical responsibilities are through the MHMMC sports medicine clinic, MaineHealth Orthopedics & Sports Medicine and specialty clinics. Training room, team, and sideline experiences are provided at several area colleges and universities, as well as local and regional high schools.
Fellows are heavily involved in the education of MHMMC primary care residents as well as Tufts University medical students. In addition, the fellows have ample opportunity to provide educational outreach in sports medicine to community audiences. Each fellow is expected to produce publishable work and actively participate in research efforts of the program. Involvement in the American College of Sports Medicine and American Medical Society for Sports Medicine is encouraged.
The mission of the MHMMC Sports Medicine Fellowship program is to provide the highest quality educational environment possible for the post graduate training of primary care physicians in the principles and practice of sports medicine.

It's important to take good care of yourself during post-graduate training so you can fully fully participate in your education and patient care.
