Graduates
MHMMC residencies in surgery and medicine were developed in the late 1940s, anesthesiology and radiology residencies in the 1950s, pediatrics and psychiatry in the 1960s, obstetrics and gynecology in the 1970s, and emergency medicine in 1996. Today, we continue to expand our innovative residency and fellowship programs with many clinical areas to choose from. Thousands of physicians have been trained through our programs and many now practice in Maine.
Undergraduates
The Maine Track program, is a unique undergraduate medical education partnership between MHMMC and the Tufts University School of Medicine. Designed for students interested in pursuing a career in rural medicine, the Maine Track program offers rigorous training at MHMMC as well as first-hand experience with providing care in rural communities throughout the state. Many Maine Track students receive generous scholarships, giving them the financial flexibility to pursue primary care specialties in underserved rural communities.
