Accountable Care Organization

About Us

U.S. health care is the most expensive in the world but lags behind other countries in many measures of quality. To address this, Medicare and insurance companies are encouraging health care systems to take on more responsibility for cost and quality.

The MaineHealth Accountable Care Organization is a network of 11 hospitals, 347 medical practices and over 1,700 health care providers in Maine and New Hampshire that have risen to the challenge.

In partnership with physician leaders, our team negotiates cost and quality goals with insurers and then works with providers to achieve those goals, increasing the value of care delivered to patients.

Our mission statement: We engage and support providers, payers and community members in advancing integrated, value-based patient care.

Our vision statement:
To be a nationally recognized network of providers delivering high-quality, affordable health care.
