  • A buddy program pairs each new physician/APP with an experienced colleague who offers guidance, cultural orientation and operational tips. Through regular check-ins, your buddy helps you build connections and acclimate successfully.

The MaineHealth Institute for Research (MHIR) drives a broad spectrum of foundational, translational, clinical and population health research. Provider research opportunities, include:

MaineHealth Innovation programs are designed to provide connections, education and funding for MaineHealth innovators. As a core value of MaineHealth, innovation creates new ways of thinking and collaborating to tackle the most complex challenges in health care. 

Our innovation team supports care team members across the system through unique programming, funding opportunities and strategic partnerships from ideas to implementation. Recent innovations include AI-assisted triage tools, a novel cancer diagnostic blood kit, a portable negative pressure tent for infection prevention, a robotic clot retriever and more.

MaineHealth Center for Health Improvement

The MaineHealth Center for Health Improvement (CHI) was founded in 1997 to support the MaineHealth vision of “working together so our communities are the healthiest in America." Since then, MaineHealth has invested more than $1.8 billion in community programs and services. 

CHI implements evidence-based, data-driven, community-informed strategies to improve population health in the communities we serve. Each MaineHealth community has a dedicated community health director and team that manages local community health resources and programs in partnership with MaineHealth clinicians, leaders and local community groups and organizations.

MaineHealth Medical Group (MHMG) is the largest medical group in Northern New England. It unifies all health care professionals at MaineHealth hospitals, medical centers and more than 230 specialty and primary care practices in Maine and New Hampshire. MaineHealth Behavioral Health

MaineHealth Behavioral Health provides behavioral health services throughout the MaineHealth system. Services include counseling and therapy, inpatient care, community-based substance use disorder treatment programs, and integrated care at MaineHealth primary care practices. Our integration program helps MaineHealth patients get effective and efficient care for mental and behavioral health conditions when and where they need it.
