Out-of-School Programs

Out-of-School programs (OOS) support children and youth when they are not in school or with their families/caregivers. The directors, supervisors, and employees at OOS programs can establish healthy environments that encourage healthy choices.

Let’s Go! works with a variety of out-of-school programs across Maine and in Mt. Washington Valley, New Hampshire, to increase healthy eating and physical activity. The Let’s Go! program is flexible and can be easily woven into your existing structure. We support school based programs, drop-in centers for teens, free-standing organizations like the Boys and Girls Clubs, YMCAs, and more.

We help you assess your program environment, identify areas for improvement, and implement an action plan to meet your unique goals. Our local coordinators provide training on Let’s Go!’s evidence-based Strategies for Success, and can assist in the writing of simple, effective policies to help sustain the 5-2-1-0 healthy habits.

Registered programs receive access to free resources for staff and families, personal assistance from a local coordinator, and training opportunities. By partnering with Let’s Go! you’ll join a network of hundreds of programs just like yours, working to improve the health of our children.
