Memory Care at The Garden provides a warm, inviting home for people living with cognitive conditions such as dementia and Alzheimer's disease. We help people with memory loss find meaning and fulfillment in their lives while supporting their medical needs with expert onsite health care services.

Our secure living areas, dining room and outdoor garden provide residents with beautiful spaces to socialize with friends and family while remaining safe. Care team members learn each resident’s unique personal history and encourage joy in everyday living.

We work collaboratively with each resident's care team, family and friends to develop personalized treatment plans that provide the highest possible quality of life.

Our memory care residential services are fully integrated with the MaineHealth system, including MaineHealth Mid Coast Hospital and a wide range of primary and specialty care services, close to home.

Assistance with activities of daily living (ADL)

  • Bathing: Assistance with a shower, spa whirlpool bath, or full sponge bath
  • Dressing: Assistance with fastening buttons/snaps/zippers, and removing clothing, assistance with prostheses
  • Toilet Use: Assistance with transferring on and off the toilet, personal hygiene, changing incontinence products, managing ostomy/catheter care, and adjusting clothing as needed
  • Locomotion: Assistance moving within your personal apartment and throughout common areas
  • Transfer: Assistance moving to/from standing from sitting, such as moving from your bed to a chair
  • Bed Mobility: Assistance moving to/from a lying position, turning side to side, and body positioning while in bed
  • Social Engagement: Assistance joining activities and engaging in social opportunities through cueing, redirecting and one-on-one supervision
  • Medication Management: Management with all medications, including cueing and supervision while taking medications

With only 17 residents, our care team members can provide highly-personalized engagement sessions and meaningful opportunities to socialize, reminisce, use familiar skills, and express emotions.

Memory Care at The Garden offers 17 private studio apartments. Residents are encouraged to furnish their apartment with personal belongings, favorite furniture, beloved artwork and cherished memories. 

Secure and inviting common areas (living room, dining room and outdoor garden) are shared by all residents.
