Core psychiatric mental health curriculum
The curriculum is comprehensive and covers a breadth of behavioral health and psychiatric care. Core topics include:

- Suicide risk and violence risk assessment
- Mood disorders (major depression, bipolar disorder)
- Anxiety disorders
- Psychotic disorders
- Substance use disorders
- Trauma-related disorders (PTSD, acute stress)
- Personality disorders
- Delirium evaluation and management
- Psychiatric emergencies
- Behavioral management strategies and de-escalation
- Psychopharmacology and medication management
- Principles of psychotherapy and brief therapeutic interventions
- Social determinants of health and community resources
- Cultural and linguistic competency
- Legal and ethical considerations in psychiatry (capacity, involuntary holds, guardianship)
- Behavioral health integration in primary care
- Collaborative care model
