Kathy Barber

Kathy Barber has extensive experience in the medical/biotech industry, specializing in sales and marketing. She has worked for Ventrex Laboratories, G.D. Searle, Abbott Laboratories and IDEXX Laboratories. Products and markets managed include the human pharmaceutical and diagnostic areas as well as veterinary diagnostics. She also has worked within the food safety industry in diagnostics and education. 

Kathy is a past board member for Barber Foods, the Gulf of Maine Research Institute, Piper Shores LLC and the Robotics Institute of Maine. She is a current Trustee at Bangor Savings Bank and chairs the Human Resource Committee and is a member of Audit, Governance and Nominating Committees. She is a past Trustee of MaineHealth where she chaired the Finance Committee. Post system unification, she joined Maine Medical Center’s board where she is a member of the Board Quality and Safety Committee and also serves on MaineHealth’s Educational Committee and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council. 

Kathy received a BS from Skidmore College, Certificate from the London School of Economics and an MBA from the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business (Chicago Booth). She enjoys the outdoors with her husband, two children and three farm dogs.
 

Margaret Bush

Margaret Bush was born and raised in Richmond, Va., where she attended St. Catherine’s School and the University of Virginia. She met her future husband, Marvin, at the university and they were married after graduation in 1981. Bush spent 13 years as a teacher, the first at The Park School in Brookline, Mass., then 12 years in Alexandria, Va.

In 1995, Margaret made a career change and has become an actress on stage, in film, and on television. She also has a floral design business. She and Marvin are currently living in Charlottesville, VA where they are enjoying the benefits of a thriving college town.

She has served on numerous boards, including The National Children’s Museum, Prevent Cancer Foundation, St. Catherine’s Alumnae, and Very Special Arts. For many years, Margaret has spoken on behalf of The Gladney Center, the adoption agency where her children were born. Margaret has a passion for pediatric patients and has visited and read to patients at The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center, named for her mother-in-law.

Patricia Camire, RN

Patricia “Pat” Camire earned her bachelor degree in Nursing at Westbrook College in Portland as one of the first 10 students to receive at BSN at the college. She went on to earn her master’s degree in nursing from University of Maine and then a master’s degree in healthcare administration from New England College in New Hampshire.

Pat worked at Southern Maine Health Care from 2005 to 2016, starting as a nursing director, then as Vice President of Clinical Services and finishing her last 2 years as Chief Nursing Officer. She began her career at Maine Medical Center in Portland working in the Coronary Intensive Care Unit and the Ambulatory Care Unit.

Pat has served in many leadership roles including on the Maine Health Nurse Executive Council, VHA Nurse Executive Council, American College of Healthcare Executives, American Organization of Nurse Executives, American Heart Association and American Association of Critical Care Nurses. She has also served on the St Andre Healthcare Facility Board and currently sits on the Maine Health Care at Home Board where she served as Chair from 2018-2020.

Christopher Cimino

Mr. Cimino serves as Executive Vice President for C.M. Cimino Realty Inc. He is responsible for the oversight of the portfolio of Section 8 elderly housing units owned and operated by the firm. He also directs activities around the acquisition of elderly housing units for the Cimino portfolio.

In 2012 Mr. Cimino rejoined the Cimino real estate and construction companies after two decades within the higher education sector. His career in higher education includes work with Forbes Magazine, Pearson Education, Nelnet Inc. as well as various software and technology companies focused on serving the for-profit and not-for-profit education markets.

Mr. Cimino has more than 25 years of management and board expertise. He serves as the President of the board for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Maine and is the immediate past Chair of the board of directors for JMG. He also serves as the Vice Chair of board of directors for the Imagine America Foundation.

Mr. Cimino received his B.S. in economics from Bentley University, a Master’s in Public Administration from Suffolk University Sawyer School of Management and his MBA from Bentley University McCallum Graduate School. He resides in Falmouth, Maine, with his wife and three children.

Kathy Coster

Kathy Coster has experience as a board member at both for-profit and nonprofit institutions. She is Chair of the Board of Gorham Savings Bank.

A Maine Medical Center board member since 2013, Kathy also serves as a board member for MaineHealth and is member of the Education and Research Committee, and Executive and Governance Committees.

She has had a long affiliation with the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southern Maine, having served as President of the Board. Kathy has also held a number of roles as a volunteer for her alma mater, Dartmouth College, including representative to the Alumni Council and President of the Dartmouth Alumni Club of Maine.

Professionally, Kathy worked as a commercial banker at institutions in New York, California, and Massachusetts. She and her husband Mike live in Falmouth and have three adult children.

Kelly Elkins

Kelly Elkins joined MaineHealth as Chief Operating Officer in January 2022. She most recently served as a Regional President within Ascension Wisconsin, a member of the Ascension Health system.

Throughout her two decades of progressive health care experience, Kelly has overseen enterprise operations for large multi-site health systems, including service line strategic planning, business development, master facilities planning, and physician recruitment.

Kelly oversees MaineHealth’s systemwide facilities and health care delivery operations, including its hospitals, outpatient services, home health services, medical group and community clinics, clinical support services and service lines, and IT planning.

She holds a Master’s of Public Health from Eastern Kentucky University.

William Frank, MD

William “Bill” Frank, an ex-officio member of the Southern Maine Health Care Board, is President of the Medical Staff of Southern Maine Health Care and works as a covering physician for Hospice of Southern Maine. He has been a medical examiner in Maine since 1983, covering a large part of York County. In 1993, he helped set up and run the Maine State Victim’s Compensation Board. He retired in 2016 after 36 years as a family physician in Sanford.

Bill obtained his undergraduate degree from Boston College, his medical degree from Georgetown University and did a three-year residency in family practice at the University of Oregon Health Science Center in Portland, Oregon.

Bill lives in Sanford with his wife, Mary Frances, a former junior high school language arts teacher. He has four grown children and six grandchildren. For fun, he enjoys bicycling, gardening and fishing.

Idella Goodson Glenn, PhD

Idella Goodson Glenn, Ph.D. serves as Vice President for Equity, Inclusion and Community Impact at the University of Southern Maine (USM). Her responsibilities include promoting diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and guiding USM in building a sustainable environment that is inclusive for all faculty, staff and students.

Dr. Glenn has 30 years of experience working in higher education and 25 years of experience in the DEI field. Previously, she has worked as Special Advisor on Inclusivity and Diversity at Hollins University in Roanoke, VA and also served as the Director for Diversity Education and Retention Initiatives at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. In addition, she served in various DEI capacities culminating as Asst. VP for Student Development and Assistant Dean of Diversity and Inclusion and at Furman University in Greenville, SC.

Dr. Glenn received her B.S. in computer science and mathematics from Furman University. She completed her Master’s in Higher Educational Administration at University of South Carolina and her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership at Clemson University. She is a member of the National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education.

Frank Goudreau, DO

Frank Goudreau is an orthopedic surgeon specializing in Orthopedic Trauma and Joint Replacement and has been practicing at Southern Maine Health Care since 2002. He earned undergraduate degrees from the University of Vermont & University of Maine at Orono and a medical degree from the University of New England School of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency at Michigan State University.

Dr. Goudreau lives in Saco with his wife and 2 children and enjoys surfing, ocean paddling, mountain biking and hiking.

Robert Hardison

Robert “Bob” Hardison grew up in Caribou Maine and earned his bachelors in Civil Engineering from University of Maine. He worked as an engineer in Buffalo and Seneca Falls, New York before returning to Maine to open and operate Atlantic Pump and Engineering, Inc. in Sanford in 1991.

Bob has always been an involved member of his community both during his time in New York and in Maine where served many community boards. His interest in healthcare led to his service on the Goodall Hospital Board of Trustees for 15 years, serving as Chairman of the Board from 2002 to 2004. He has also served as Chair on the Cancer Care Center of York County Board, and most recently the serving on the MaineHealth Board of Corporators and the Southern Maine Health Care local board where he most recently chaired the Planning & Development committee.

Bob remains very active in Sanford community through his work with the Sanford Regional Growth Council, Sanford Planning Board, Sanford-Springvale Rotary, Sanford-Springvale Chamber of Commerce and many other organizations.

George Hissong

George “Ted” Hissong is President of the Hissong Group and President and CEO of Greystone at Four Oaks located in Wells, ME. He has been a long time board member at Southern Maine Health Care where he served as Chairman, and also serves as a Trustee of Maine Health. Ted has also served as a trustee of the Kennebunk Light and Power District, two years as Chair as well as a trustee of the Kennebunk Sewer District. He is currently a member of the Sanford Industrial Development Commission.

Ted earned his bachelor’s degree in physical chemistry from Heidelberg University, Tiffin, OH and attended graduate school at Purdue University, W. Lafayette, IN.

Jennifer Jewell, MD

Dr. Jennifer Jewell is the current President of the Maine Medical Center Medical Staff. She is a hospital-based pediatrician at The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital and an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at Tufts University School of Medicine.

Dr. Jewell received her Bachelor of Science degree from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, followed by her Medical Degree at The Boston University School of Medicine. After medical School, Dr. Jewell did residency training in Pediatrics and Chief Residency at The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center.

After completing training, she took a faculty position at The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital in 2002. Dr. Jewell has an interest in medical leadership and quality improvement.

Dan Loiselle, MD

Dr. Dan Loiselle is the Chief Medical Officer of InterMed, where he has practiced internal medicine since 1998.

Dr. Loiselle grew up in Eddington, Maine. He completed undergraduate studies at Bowdoin College, is a 1995 graduate of Dartmouth Medical School and completed his residency at Maine Medical Center before joining InterMed in 1998.

He provides general internist preventive medicine for adult patients and enjoys the longitudinal care of multiple family members and trying to improve the health of our patient population, as well as the lives of InterMed’s providers and staff.

In addition to Dr. Loiselle’s Maine Medical Center board seat, he also serves on the Board of MaineHealth and InterMed. He is a member of the Maine Medical Association and the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Loiselle and his wife Melissa reside in Scarborough, although on most winter weekends they can be found skiing at Sugarloaf with their family.

Andrew Mueller, MD

Andrew Mueller, MD, is chief executive officer of MaineHealth, a not-for-profit integrated health system consisting of nine local hospital systems, a comprehensive behavioral healthcare network, diagnostic services, home health agencies, and 1,700 employed and independent physicians. With 22,000 dedicated employees, MaineHealth provides preventive care, diagnosis and treatment to 1.1 million residents in Maine and New Hampshire.

Prior to joining MaineHealth in April 2021, Dr. Mueller served as president and chief executive officer of Centra Health in Lynchburg, Virginia, and previously as president of Novant Health’s Greater Charlotte market. He received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and served in the Air Force as a staff family physician and flight surgeon.

Robert Quentin

Robert “Bob” Quentin serves as President and CEO of Saco & Biddeford Savings Institution. He earned his bachelors in accounting from Bentley College in Massachusetts and is a certified public accountant.

Bob has served on the Southern Maine Health Care board for many years also serving as chair of the finance committee. He has also served as a member of the MaineHealth finance and audit committees, treasurer of the Kimball Health Center and Lucia Kimball Deering Trust, a member of the Saco Economic Development Commission and member of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston Member Advisory Panel.

Amanda Rand

Amanda Rand is President and CEO of Spinnaker Trust, a Portland based Wealth Management Firm. In her role at Spinnaker, Amanda oversees all aspects of the client experience, team development and strategic direction of the firm. More directly, Amanda works with clients to solve complex and often multi-generational financial, trust and gifting challenges.

Prior to joining Spinnaker in 2008, Amanda worked as a Trusts & Estates lawyer, focusing her practice on complex estate planning and trust and estate administration at firms in both Boston and Portland. She is active in the community, serving as a Director for the Welch Fund at the Maine Community Foundation, a Corporator at MaineHealth and a Director of the Alfond Scholarship Foundation.

She received her bachelor’s degree from Duke University and her juris doctorate from Harvard Law School.

A native of Falmouth, Amanda lives there with her husband, Mark, and their three children.

Nadia Saliba

Nadia Saliba is the Founding Principal of Flying Point Consulting LLC, a real estate and financial investment consultancy she began in 2018. Her projects include consulting on investment fund dispositions in affordable housing, a luxury condominium project in Portland, and acting as owner's representative in multiple Maine home building projects.

Nadia serves on the MaineHealth Investment Committee and the Maine Medical Center and Southern Maine Health Care Finance Committee. She also serves as a Director of the General Alumni Association for her high school alma mater, Phillips Exeter Academy.

Prior to Flying Point Consulting, Nadia spent 17 years working for the global investment bank Goldman Sachs in New York and London. She earned her bachelor's degree in International Relations from Brown University.

A Maine native, Nadia resides in Freeport, where she is active in the community as a Trustee for the Freeport Historical Society. She enjoys skiing, cycling, sailing and all the benefits life in Maine has to offer.

Sarah Shepherd, DO

Dr. Sarah Shepherd is the current President of the Southern Maine Health Care Medical Staff. She is Board Certified in both and Emergency Medicine and Neuromuscular Medicine/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine.

Dr. Shepherd received her Bachelor of Science degree from Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colorado, followed by her Doctorate of Osteopathy at the University Of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine (UNECOM) in Biddeford, Maine. After graduating medical school, Dr. Shepherd completed her residency in Emergency Medicine at Midwestern University-Kingman Regional Medical Center in Kingman, Arizona. Following this, she returned to Maine and completed an additional +1 residency in Neuromuscular Medicine/Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine also through UNECOM.

Dr. Shepherd has been practicing at SMHC since 2013 and also serves as a Medical Examiner for the State of Maine. Dr. Shepherd has an interest in medical leadership and quality improvement.

Sharon Siegel, MD

Dr. Sharon Siegel is a radiologist with Spectrum Healthcare Partners, and has been with Maine Medical Center for 20 years, where she is Chair of the Department of Radiology.

Dr. Siegel is deeply involved in diverse operations at MMC, serving on the Credentialing Committee, the Oncology Advisory Board, the Radiology Advisory Board and is also the Radiology representative for Trauma. She has served on multiple search committees for key positions throughout her time at MMC and cares deeply about the hospital community and its future.
She graduated from Brown University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology, and is a 1991 graduate of the Tufts University School of Medicine, where she was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.

Dr. Siegel did her residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where she also had a fellowship in Body Imaging, and stayed on staff there for several years.

She currently serves as an Associate Clinical Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine, and is board-certified in Diagnostic Radiology through the American Board of Radiology. Her professional interests include GI Radiology, Trauma and critical care imaging, Ultrasound and Mammography.

Married with two children, Dr. Siegel is a Cape Elizabeth resident. She is an avid gardener, skier and runner, ice hockey player and is a former Division 1 Field hockey player.

Kinna Thakarar, DO

Dr. Kinna Thakarar, DO MPH, is an attending Physician in Infectious Diseases/Addiction Medicine at Maine Medical Partners (MMP) in South Portland and at the Gilman clinic in Portland.

Dr. Thakarar grew up near Philadelphia and received her B.A. in Health and Societies from University of Pennsylvania. She received her Master’s in Public Health (MPH) from Johns Hopkins and her D.O. from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Cambridge Health Alliance in Cambridge, Mass. She also completed fellowships in Infectious Disease and Immersion Training in Addiction Medicine at Boston Medical Center in Boston, Mass.

Dr. Thakarar is board certified in infectious disease, addiction medicine and internal medicine. She is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine. She served on the American Society for Addiction Medicine’s COVID-19 task force and is an advocacy liaison for the Infectious Diseases Society of America.

Heidi Wierman, MD

Dr. Heidi Wierman has been a practicing Geriatrician at Maine Medical Center (MMC) since 2002, and is the division director for Geriatrics at MMC and Medical Director for Healthy Aging at MaineHealth. She is an Assistant Professor of Medicine with the Tufts University School of Medicine and formerly the Director of the Geriatrics Fellowship at MMC.

She is Board Certified in both Geriatric Medicine and General Internal Medicine, and received her undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of Oregon, Magna Cum Laude, and her medical degree from Oregon Health Sciences University. She completed residency at Maine Medical Center and Geriatrics Fellowship at University of Rochester.

Dr. Wierman is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, and is a member of the Association of Directors of Geriatric Academic Programs and of the American Geriatrics Society.
