Maine Children's Cancer Program Walk

Mark your calendar for the 37th annual Maine Children’s Cancer Program Walk on Saturday, September 14th, 2024! Since 1986, communities across Maine have come together on the third Saturday in September to walk in solidarity with local children fighting cancer and blood disorders. This special event, often referred to as a “family reunion” for our community, provides our patients and families the opportunity to honor those fighting cancer, celebrate those in remission, and remember those who are no longer with us.

Strike Out Cancer in Kids

Each baseball season, MCCP partners with the Portland Sea Dogs and other community sponsors on fundraising program to support MCCP patients. In its 30 years, Strike Out Cancer in Kids has raised important awareness of childhood cancer within our community and raised over $5 million to support MCCP patients and families. Learn more.

MCCP Maine Marathon Team

Each October, a group of dedicated runners known as Team MCCP lace up to run in support of our young patients and families at MCCP. Whether you run in the Maine Marathon or commit to a Marathon Run Streak Challenge, every mile and every dollar raised counts in the fight against childhood cancer. This year, we're proud to be a beneficiary of the 2024 Gorham Savings Bank Maine Marathon!

Learn about our 2019 Slugger Kid - Griffin

Griffin has been through more in his four years then most will in lifetime. From bone marrow aspirations, monthly lumbar punctures with anesthesia, at times weekly IV chemotherapies and blood transfusions to hundreds of oral chemotherapies he has shown more strength and bravery then we could ever imagine. He has spent weeks on end at Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital and considers the Oncologists, nurses and staff at Maine Children’s Cancer Program his friends.
