The Stephens Memorial Hospital Grant Program supports local non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations in their implementation of sustainable health care initiatives in the community. We are currently accepting applications for the Stephens Memorial Hospital Grant Program with an application deadline of Tuesday, January 2, 2024.

Recent grant recipients include:
- Camp Susan Curtis of Stoneham was awarded a grant to provide the opportunity for five economically disadvantaged children and teens from the Oxford Hills area to attend Camp Susan Curtis for two weeks of skill and character development, and participate in healthy outdoor activities, which have been proven to help children and teens engage positively in schools and communities
- The Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine was the recipient of funding to support wellness programs for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers through the Caring Coupon Program. Those affected by cancer can use coupons to participate in activities such as Yoga Warriors Reiki, and Self-Reflexology through Possibilities in Norway.
- Safe Voices of Norway was awarded a grant to stock the local emergency food pantry as well as financial assistance for those in emergency situations.
- The Progress Center in Norway was the recipient of funding for their Feel Better Food program, which provides home delivery of nutritious meals for patients recently discharged from the hospital. This program works to address ongoing malnutrition challenges among recently discharged and recovering patients
- The Western Foothills Land Trust was awarded funding to assist in their efforts to build a universally accessible, quarter mile trail for the mobility-challenged community on the Shepard’s Farm Preserve in Norway.
- The Pink Feather Foundation was the recipient of funding for their Dress Wellness Project. The project’s mission is to help Oxford Hills students who are at or below the poverty line obtain clothing, coats, and winter gear so they can dress as well as their peers in school. The goal is to improve the wellness, mental health, and self-esteem of every potential “at risk” student in the Oxford Hills school district.
