North Conway, NH – Have you ever wondered how to give an injection, apply a cast, or save a life in the wilderness? Mt. Washington Valley’s Health Careers Camp is back this summer, offering middle school students a chance to explore real-world medical skills in a fun, hands-on environment.

Campers show off their casts during the 2024 Health Camp hosted by MaineHealth Memorial Hospital, SOLO Schools, and the Mt Washington Valley Schools to Career Program.

Held at Kennett High School in North Conway from July 7–11, 2025, this week-long day camp runs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (times may vary due to field trips) and is designed for students entering grades 7, 8, or 9. Youth from Conway, Fryeburg, Bridgton, Berlin, Gorham, and the entire MWV and Lakes Region are encouraged to participate.

Campers will gain practical experience by working side-by-side with local health care professionals and using real medical equipment. Through partnerships with MaineHealth Memorial Hospital, SOLO Schools, and the Mt Washington Valley Schools to Career Program, students will learn to take vital signs, draw blood, give injections, apply casts, suture wounds, and perform wilderness rescue techniques. They will also engage in emergency medical scenarios and have the opportunity to earn CPR certification.

Now in its 23rd year, previous camp participants have gone on to careers in nursing, physical therapy, X-ray, dental hygiene, veterinary medicine, and nursing, including a few nurses now at MaineHealth Memorial Hospital.

The cost of the camp is $200, with scholarships available to ensure accessibility for all interested students.

Spaces are limited—register now and take the first step into the world of health care careers!
