Rockport & Belfast, ME – Eight care team members from Pen Bay Medical Center and Waldo County General Hospital were recently honored with employee awards during ceremonies held on the hospital campuses.
Each quarter, the hospitals recognize care team members who have won any of the organizations’ employee awards. Awards given this quarter include:
- The DAISY Award, which is a national award honoring the super-human work nurses do for patients and families every day.
- The Sunshine Award, given to a clinical team member who supports patient care, for the extraordinary contributions they make every day in the lives of patients and families.
- The Nursing Excellence Awards, given as part of Nurses Week (May 6-10), recognize a direct patient care nurse and a certified nursing assistant, medical assistant or tech at each hospital. These care team members are chosen for demonstrating remarkable performance or commitment to the MaineHealth Values in Action: Patient Centered, Excellence, Ownership, Respect, Ownership, Integrity and Innovation.
At Pen Bay, Kate Rich, RN, OB, won the DAISY Award; Debbie Post, CNA, Med/Surg, won the Sunshine Award and the CNA/Tech Nursing Excellence Award; and Chelsea Allen, RN, Internal and Family Medicine, won the RN Nursing Excellence Award.
At Waldo, Sherri Littlefield, RN, Med/Surg, won the DAISY Award; Seth Milton, lead CT tech, Radiology, won the Sunshine Award; Nettie-Kate Jordan, RN, Primary and Walk-in Care, won the RN Nursing Excellence Award; and Kelly Matthews, certified surgical tech, Perioperative Services, won the CNA/Tech Nursing Excellence Award.
