NORTH CONWAY, NH – Drive-through seasonal flu vaccine clinics are open to the public at Memorial Hospital starting at the end of September. Doses of the new bivalent COVID-19 booster will also be available. Drive-through clinics begin September 24 and continue each Saturday through October 29, excluding October 8 (Indigenous People’s Day weekend).
“Our team hosted drive-through clinics last year and did a great job making vaccinations super convenient and easy to get,” says Art Mathisen, Memorial Hospital President. “The drive-through concept is a great holdover from the early lessons of the pandemic. This year it aligned perfectly with the new bivalent COVID-19 booster roll out.”
Seasonal flu vaccines are available to anyone 6 months and older. The bivalent COVID-19 booster has been updated and formulated to protect against the latest Omicron variants. It is available to anyone twelve or older who have completed their primary COVID-19 vaccine series. Both can be administered at the same time.
“Fall is the ideal time to get a flu vaccine,” explains Matthew Dunn, Chief Medical Officer. “We’re glad to provide this convenient opportunity for our community to get both the flu shot and the bivalent booster at once. It’s important for folks to take the time to protect themselves and their families from unnecessary illness.”
Memorial Hospital's Mount Washington Valley Rural Health Primary Care practice is hosting the drive-through clinics for both current patients and the general public. Clinics will be located in the parking lot at the hospital's main entrance. There is no need to register in advance or make an appointment. Simply drive up to the main entrance during the clinic hours of 8 am - noon. Please bring a health insurance card if you have one and plan to stay for fifteen minutes after your shot(s) for routine monitoring.
Appointments are available for those who are interested in the bivalent COVID-19 booster but are unable to make it to a Saturday drive-through clinic. Memorial Hospital patients and the general public may schedule booster shot appointments online at vaccine.mainehealth.org or call 603-356-5472 to schedule. Current Memorial Hospital patients can schedule appointments at any time with their primary care team. Appointments are available on Wednesdays from 8 am to noon for the general public. For more information, call 603-356-5472.
