MaineHealth Food Pantry Portland

MaineHealth Food Pantry Portland provides healthy food at no cost to community members. Our goal is to be an extra source for healthy foods for you and your family. 

Food is shared in a safe space set up like a small grocery store. We are open to all on a walk-in basis. No appointment needed. During stormy weather, please call ahead to check hours.

Hours: Thursdays, 10 am - 3 pm

  • On foot: .2 miles from MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland
  • By bus: On METRO Routes 1, 5, 7, 9A, 9B. Take METRO Route 1 to stop #140 at the corner of Congress and Gillman
  • By car: Free parking for pantry visitors (entrance on St. John Street)

Impact 2024

152 volunteers donated 5,414 hours. We became Good Shepherd Food Bank’s 10th largest partner in Maine out of 660, based on amount of food shared. We shared 991,787 pounds of food, including 434,537 pounds of fresh produce. We had 31,391 visits, sharing food for 15,539 people. 4,567 community members shopped, including 2,465 who visited for the first time.
