Mick's Story

After years of living with heart failure, Mick faced a turning point. Following a consultation with his care team, Mick was determined to be an eligible candidate for a left ventricular assist device (LVAD)—a life-saving pump for people with severe heart failure.

Thanks to expert care by his MaineHealth cardiovascular team, Mick is now back to doing the things he loves: working in his garage, four-wheeling adventures, and visiting the Fryeburg Fair in his fifth-wheel camper. In this video, watch Mick return to the fairgrounds, reconnect with his care team, and celebrate life with the support of his LVAD.
