Alexander Abud, MD, Specialist in Multiple Sclerosis, Joins Pen Bay Neurology

ROCKPORT, Maine—Pen Bay Medical Center (PBMC) is pleased to welcome Alexander Abud, MD to Pen Bay Neurology. As a specialist in multiple sclerosis, Dr. Abud will be able care for Knox and Waldo County patients close to home.

Dr. Abud completed his fellowship in neuroimmunology/multiple sclerosis at Brown University, where he also completed his residency. He earned his medical degree at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia.

Multiple sclerosis affects approximately 130 of every 100,000 people nationwide, and is estimated to have a much higher rate in Maine. It is an autoimmune disease of the central nervous system that results in injury to the nerves, and often leads to disability over time.
