PBMC, WCGH Offer Drive-Thru Flu Clinics

August 15, 2022

Rockport, ME - Pen Bay Medical Center and Waldo County General Hospital will offer weekly drive-thru flu clinics beginning in the first week of September and running through the end of October.

The clinics, which are open to the public, will offer the flu shot in both the standard dose and the high dose often favored by seniors. Adults and children three years of age and older are welcome.

  • At PBMC, the drive thru clinics will be held at 409 Old County Road in Rockland every Wednesday from 10 am to 2 pm beginning Sept. 7 and running through Oct. 26.
  • At WCGH, the drive thru clinics will be held at 125 Northport Ave. in Belfast, across the street from the main hospital building, every Tuesday from 10 am to 2 pm beginning Sept. 6 and running through Oct. 25.

As in the past, the drive-thru flu clinics have been designed to be user friendly, and no appointments are necessary. Those seeking a flu shot need only follow the signs at the location of their choice. These will lead to a drive-thru designated by traffic cones where clinical staff wearing personal protective equipment will greet them and administer the flu vaccine.

Most insurances are accepted, and those with insurance should be sure to bring both their insurance card and a photo ID. Some insurance plans only cover vaccines given by your doctor or at a limited set of locations, so consider checking with your insurance company first.

Those without insurance will be billed an amount to be determined once the final cost of the vaccine is known later this month.
