Apply & Contact
- We participate in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) and use the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)
- Our Residency Leadership reviews each completed applicant file and makes the decision as to who will be invited for an interview
- We will notify you via ERAS about whether or not we are able to offer you an interview
- Canadian medical students should contact the Canadian Resident Matching Service in Ontario, Canada
- International medical graduates can contact the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) for their application materials and eligibility requirements
Requirements:
- Completed ERAS Application
- Medical school transcript
- USMLE scores
- Dean's Letter
- 3 letters of recommendation (min. of 1 traditional EM SLOE)
- We will review SLOE from Non-EM Residency Program, Off-Service, and Sub-specialty EM rotations
- Details can be found on the CORD website
Interview Details:
- From November through the beginning of February
- One day per week (typically Monday, some Tuesdays)
- We will be interviewing remotely this year and are currently developing plan and schedule to do so
- We have traditionally held an informal evening prior to interviews to meet our residents, we are working on a method to provide a similar experience this year
- We will continue to offer interviews until our dates are filled
- We will not offer more interviews than we have available interview slots, with the caveat that invited applicants have 1 week to respond to the offer of an interview
Wait List:
- Once all interview dates are filled we will offer a small number of applicants a place on the waiting list for when there are inevitable cancellations
- Applicants who receive an interview from the wait list are at no disadvantage to anyone else interviewing with the program
- Nearly every year one or more of our matched applicants comes in off the waiting list
- For those on the wait list, we will communicate interview openings throughout the interview season (sometimes on quite short notice)
- All offers (for interviews or wait list) will be extended by November 15, after which we stop monitoring ERAS for new applications
