The Glickman Lauder Center of Excellence in Autism and Development Disorders is committed to training and mentorship of professionals who are interested in this field. Building the next generation of expert care providers for the developmentally delayed population is one of our most important responsibilities. We offer training experiences in social work, behavior analysis, psychiatry, psychology, special education, occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech language pathology.

Apprenticeship Opportunity
The Glickman Lauder Center of Excellence in Autism and Developmental Disorders at MaineHealth is pleased to offer an Education Technician Apprenticeship Program. This is an 18 month earn-while-you-learn program offered in conjunction with Southern Maine Community College (SMCC) through the Maine Department of Labor and the Maine Apprenticeship Program.
It is designed for those who want to become an Education Technician II at MaineHealth. After completing the Intro to Teaching Bootcamp during the first week in the program, you will then spend time working full-time in a classroom setting while progressing through coursework one afternoon per week each semester. Additional week-long course engagements are required just before the start of each semester. Cohorts typically start in January and August each year. To qualify for this program, you must meet the following prerequisites:
- 18 years or older
- Resident of State of Maine
- Proof of Authorization to work in U.S.
- High School diploma, GED, or HiSET
- Desire to work in education field
- Testing may be required
- Impacted by COVID-19
