As a gynecologic oncologist, my responsibility is to provide every patient with compassionate, evidence-based care grounded in humility. I deeply believe in sharing the process of decision-making with my patients, who deserve education as much as action. When I meet with new folks, we discuss the ways their history makes them unique and weigh the risks and benefits of available treatments. We then create a plan together that balances safety and efficacy. This may include anything from minimally invasive outpatient surgery to radical debulking procedures, as well as chemotherapy, immune or targeted treatments, radiation, or even enrollment in cutting-edge clinical trials. At every point, I try to center the whole person and their goals for living a good life. This is how evidence, humility, and compassion can guide my work and your journey from diagnosis to survivorship.
