Matthew D Cheney, MD
- Radiology, Radiation Oncology

While I was in graduate school, my Dad was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma at the age of 48. He unfortunately passed away within a year. In the midst of an MD/PhD, I had planned on a research-focused career; however, as I helped my Dad navigate the medical system and choose treatments, I learned that my true passion lies in clinical medicine. As a Radiation Oncologist, I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to help my patients make the most well-informed treatment decisions possible with a central focus on their personal goals and priorities. Outside of work, I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my wife and son in Maine’s great outdoors. I’m grateful to be able to live and work in such a beautiful place among such kind people.
