Harold W Van Lonkhuyzen, MD

I am an adult psychiatrist who enjoys helping people with all manner of mental health concerns, including the most serious. As a medical student at the University of Rochester, I absorbed the biopsychosocial approach to conceptualizing patient problems, and approach understanding people holistically. At the University of Washington, where I did my residency, I saw the value of primary care and mental health integration, and that has been a major focus of my work at Pen Bay Medical Center. Other areas of interest for me include suicide prevention, teaching medical students, and learning from my patients.
