Dara Saffer, LCSW
I am a psychotherapist, here to work with any of our patients who would like support during a difficult time or are curious about long lasting change. It is an honor to be a part of another person's life story, especially during the most painful and frightening times. I respect the courage our patients must draw on to consider trusting me to join them in this process.
My post-graduate training has focused on trauma and the many ways people adapt to survive it. Often, these adaptations are felt in the body and must be acknowledged in order to heal. The evidence-based modalities I use recognize that our thoughts, feelings and memories are not abstractions but biological events that can evolve over time with attention and care.
I grew up in Maine and came back to raise my family here. In my free time I am outside, enjoying the ocean and the mountains in all seasons. I am proud to be part of the staff here at Adult Specialty Care. Every person working at this clinic contributes to a culture of compassion, advocacy, and genuine cooperation to provide the care our patients deserve.
