Christopher James Watson

I am a Maine native practicing as an emergency medicine physician and medical toxicologist at Maine Medical Center and the Northern New England Poison Center. After receiving my medical degree at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, I completed my medical training in Boston at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center's Harvard Affiliated Emergency Medicine Residency and Boston Children's Hospital's Harvard Medical Toxicology Fellowship.

My clinical and academic interests include resource utilization in the care of poisoned patients, critical care toxicology, and participating in the education of our medical trainees.

At MaineHealth, I aspire to provide compassionate and equitable care whilst working alongside our exceptional team of nurses, technicians, pharmacists, providers and ancillary staff. I understand that my patients in the emergency department and through the poison center are oftentimes facing uncertainty and pain; it is my primary goal to keep them informed, comfortable and safe.

Outside of work, I enjoy watching sports, cooking, reading, and exploring Maine with my family and friends.
