I am a board-certified Nurse Practitioner with over 9 years of experience in urgent/walk-in and primary care. I grew up in the Midcoast area, attended local schools, and started my nursing career over 20 years ago as a CNA at MaineHealth Pen Bay Hospital. Shortly thereafter, I became a nurse and eventually obtained a Master's Degree from USM. As an NP and a primary care provider (PCP), I find that I am really able to "help" others the way I have always hoped. I am often surprised by the many ways that a PCP can support patients and how much they depend on their PCP. Whether that PCP be an MD, DO, PA or an NP like me, we are all capable of providing the same service, but perhaps because of the differences in our educational tracks, the approach may vary.
