What did you do before medical school?
I worked in the Quality and Safety Department at Maine Medical Center for a year. I also spent a year working as a substitute teacher, the majority in a long-term fourth-grade role.

Growing up in Maine, I have always looked to Maine Medical Center as a place rooted in community and driven by excellence. I experienced the strong sense of community while working here before medical school. When I rotated through different departments as a medical student and saw familiar faces, I was repeatedly reminded of the culture of support, kindness, and hard-work. I wanted to be a resident where I was surrounded by such individuals and to continue caring for the community I call home.
