Interests/hobbies
Dogs. Old dogs. Young dogs. Big dogs, little dogs. I also love fancy coffees and pastries. Will lounge when given the chance.
Celebrity I most resemble
Tina Fey
If I wasn't a doctor, I would be a...
A carpenter or mechanic! I think they are such useful, therapeutic skills that I don't have at all but wish I did.
Favorite restaurant in Portland
Honey Paw- specifically the Smoked Lamb Khao Soi and the honey soft serve
Favorite place in Maine
My work in progress backyard with a little bonfire
Medical interests
Global health, mobile health, working in underserved areas
Favorite weekend destination
This one is tough- I think it's less where you are but what you're doing; I'm happy in my backyard gardening, napping at the beach, camping in the woods, lounging in front of my TV, exploring downtown
Favorite Maine activity
Eating! I know I'm supposed to say hiking or skiing or surfing but it is definitely eating. Portland has SO MANY restaurants/bakeries/coffee shops worth exploring.
What did you do before medical school?
6th grade science teacher, children's behavior health counselor, motorcycle legal assistant. Also barista, bartender, drive thru worker, landscaper, etc. it was a longggggg road to get here!)
Best/worst job
Best: residency (cheesy I know but true!) 2nd best: motorcycle legal assistant because I loved the people / Worst: middle school teacher (so hard, they need to pay teachers more!)
Why MaineHealth Maine Medical Center?
I was looking for a place allowed me to ask questions, grow, and learn in a safe, collaborative environment. The large international population was appealing with the exposure and training that comes along with it. I also knew I didn't want a big city but more of a funky, small-town vibe.
