The restaurant in Portland’s West End is selling a limited number of locally-sourced trees with 100 percent of proceeds benefiting The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital.
PORTLAND, Maine – Chaval Restaurant at 58 Pine Street in Portland is offering home-grown holiday spirit this weekend, selling Christmas trees to benefit The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center (BBCH). Those who donate at least $70 to BBCH this week can reserve one balsam fir tree between 5-8 feet tall, and pick it up at the restaurant Dec. 3 or 4 between 10 am and 2 pm.
“We are so grateful to our friends at Chaval for hosting this fundraiser,” said BBCH philanthropy manager Rob Reider. “Every dollar raised goes directly to helping the children of Maine live healthier lives.”
The trees, which are in limited supply, come from Allagash View Farms in Fort Kent. Donors can reserve theirs by emailing Robert.reider@mainehealth.org. Chaval also will be selling baked goods, homemade cards by Splatters for Kids and more on its back patio – all benefitting BBCH.
