This years’ Cut-A-Thon was adjusted to a Raffle-a-thon in light of COVID-19, requiring a coordinated effort by salon staff and local businesses and crafts people who generously donated over 30 prizes to be raffled. Money was also raised through pink streaks in client’s hair and the sales of pink novelty items.
“We are incredibly grateful for the donation from On the Go Hair Designs,” said SMHC’s Vice President of Strategic Development, Susan Keiler. “These funds will enable the Center for Breast Care to offer educational materials, social work services, programs such as yoga, and other complementary therapies such as lymphedema massage and acupuncture to our patients at a time in their lives when they need it the most. Without community support and donations, the staff wouldn’t be able to provide these valuable services to the women in our community afflicted by breast cancer.”
