- Why Maine Medical Center?There are so many reasons why I chose to come train at Maine Med! Firstly, I grew up in this beautiful state and wanted to return to train and practice in my home community. I wanted to go to a program that would provide excellent operative training with an individualized approach to education. The people at MMC are what truly locked it in for me though, I am inspired every day by my peers, mentors and community here and look forward to practicing locally when I graduate.

- Best/worse jobIce cream scooper at Coldstone Creamery. I think this was both best and worst? It was fun and frustrating all at the same time.
- Why Maine Medical Center?The camaraderie and friendship between faculty and residents was immediately evident during my interview. I love how our program listens to and trusts resident decisions. All our attendings treat us like valuable colleagues, and are genuinely invested in our growth as urologists. It is truly a collaborative team, and our surgical experience is unparalleled.
- If I wasn't a doctor I would be aI would most likely have studied linguistics. I really love foreign language, and discovering patterns in human communication across the globe is fascinating.

It offers exposure to a wide breadth of Urology. I also really appreciate the collegial, supportive environment within our program.

- What did you do before medical school?I took four years off after college before medical school. During that time I worked as a medical assistant at a FQHC and an urgent care and got a Masters of Medical Science.

Despite never working with me before, everyone was incredibly kind and felt very familiar from the beginning. The combination of an excellent surgical training with the family-like culture was everything I hoped for in a program. I also fell in love with driving to work every day and looking around in awe at the beautiful scenery.
