The Maine Children's Cancer Program (MCCP) is dedicated to providing care, support and hope to children battling cancer in Maine and Southern New Hampshire. The Sanford Elks Lodge #1470 MCCP Committee is dedicated to its efforts in supporting MCCP. Together we are making a difference in the lives of local children bravely fighting cancer.
About the Sanford Elks Lodge #1470 MCCP Committee
For 31 years, the Sanford Elks Lodge #1470 MCCP Committee has been committed to raising funds for the Maine Elks Major Charity Project, the MCCP. From the beginning, the committee has strived to make its fundraisers fun for community members to enjoy while at the same time helping children and families fight their battle with cancer and blood disorders.
With fundraisers like Golf Tournaments, 500 Wish Club, Auctions, Chili Chowda Contests, Arnie’s Rides, Fishing Derbies, Ray Bourre's Day and many others, the committee has raised $2.9 million dollars in support of the MCCP. Funds raised are vital to support kids, families and caregivers at MCCP as they battle childhood cancer.
About the Maine Children’s Cancer Program
The MCCP pediatric oncology program at The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital at Maine Medical Center is Maine's premier treatment center for children diagnosed with cancer and blood disorders. The MCCP has three primary areas of focus: providing children with access to the best cancer treatments available, participating in clinical research to improve survival rates and move closer to a cure, and supporting the entire family throughout their journey with childhood cancer.
With a team of specialized pediatric oncology/hematology physicians, nurses, social workers, research associates, a child life specialist, and a therapy dog, MCCP offers a wealth of resources to young patients and their families. Often, care can be delivered close to home.
