SMHC Auxiliary Tree of Life Offers a New Way to Honor and Remember Loved Ones

November 27, 2018

Tree of Life Dove 450Make a gift to name a dove and receive a personalized ornament

Join the Southern Maine Health Care (SMHC) Auxiliary on December 5, 2018 at 5:00 pm for homemade baked goods, holiday music performed by local musicians, and to remember or honor your loved ones by hanging a personalized dove on the tree at the annual Tree Lighting Ceremonies.

This year, by making a gift of any size, each donor to the Tree of Life will receive his or her own personalized dove with the tribute’s name written in calligraphy by a member of the Auxiliary Board. The name of your loved one will be read aloud as your dove is placed on the tree. You are then invited to bring your dove home with you as a keepsake. To make a gift and purchase your personalized dove, please contact SMHC’s Development Office at 207-283-7251.

The events will take place at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5 at both the Biddeford and Sanford Medical Centers to light the Tree of Life and remember and honor those who have touched our lives. The SMHC Medical Centers are located at 1 Medical Center Drive in Biddeford and 25 June Street in Sanford. All gifts directly support patient care in SMHC’s Emergency Departments.

For over three decades, the SMHC Auxiliary has held its annual Tree of Life campaign to support life-saving care at SMHC’s Emergency Departments in Biddeford and Sanford. Each December, the Auxiliary invites the community to join them at their simultaneous tree lighting events in the lobbies of the Biddeford and Sanford Medical Centers.
