April 08, 2018

Farmington, Maine-

Nurse/midwife JennieLea Hanna, MSN, CNM, has joined the medical staff of Franklin Health Women’s Care and Franklin Memorial Hospital (FMH) offering a new provider option for women’s health including expectant mothers delivering at Franklin Memorial Hospital.

Hanna has an extensive background in labor and delivery nursing that started in 1997 before transitioning to Franklin Memorial Hospital’s Maternal and Child Health Unit (MCH) in 2008 serving as a nurse for labor and delivery and pediatrics. Hanna has since received her master’s degree in nurse midwifery at Frontier Nursing University and she’s excited to be in her new role as a certified nurse midwife (CNM).

She joins the obstetrician/gynecologist (OB/GYN) team of Tara Aumand, MD; Susan Kearing, DO; and Jennifer Zeliger, MD. As a CNM, Hanna is an advanced practice provider who offers health care services for women from puberty to beyond menopause, as well as patient education about reproductive health, contraception, and pregnancy planning.

Patients of Franklin Health Women’s Care deliver their babies in the MCH unit where most women labor, deliver, and recover in their private room. A new state-of-the-art wireless monitoring system allows the laboring woman the freedom to move about as it monitors her vital signs, measures fetal heart rate, and alerts staff in cases of emergency.

The practice is located in the Franklin Health Medical Arts Center in Farmington. Obstetrical services are also provided at the Androscoggin Valley Medical Arts Center in Livermore Falls.
