NEW VISITOR RESTRICTIONS: To help prevent further community spread of COVID-19, we have implemented temporary visitor restrictions. As of Dec. 4, no visitors are allowed in adult critical care and inpatient areas, except as needed for care plan discussions at the time of admission or as arranged with the care team. The Waldo County General Hospital Emergency Department is staffed 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with a full complement of health care professionals, including physicians, physician assistants, nurses and other clinical staff.
We are proud to partner with LifeFlight of Maine for emergent patient transport needs should they be necessary.
The expansion of the Emergency Department was completed in 2019. The ED space was updated to include private rooms. two state-of-the-art trauma rooms and dedicated spaces for patients in psychiatric crisis.
