PBMC Health Center
Located on the Pen Bay Medical Center campus, the PBMC Health Center brings primary care and specialty services together in one location. Now open, the Health Center houses primary care practices including Internal Medicine and Family Medicine, Pediatrics and Pediatric Physical and Occupational Therapy, Audiology and Speech Pathology, and the Ear, Nose and Throat practice. The Health Center also will provide space where specialists from the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital at Maine Medical Center can meet with patients in Rockport, reducing the need for children with special health needs to travel to Portland.

We are dedicated to providing occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech and language services to exceptional children. When evaluating and treating young children, we realize that skills are dependent upon each other and therefore approach the child as a whole. Sensory and motor development is influenced by cognitive and speech and language skills. Speech and language development is influenced by cognitive, sensory motor skills and hearing ability. Therefore the team approach, with the family in the center, is paramount. The family shapes the child's development and is therefore critical in understanding the child. Together, parents and therapists create a plan of care tailored to the child and the family.
