BIDDEFORD, Maine – The morning of July 16, over 140 enthusiastic female golfers arrived at the Biddeford-Saco Country Club for the 25th Annual Pink on the Links Golf Tournament. This is the tenth year that Laura Blanchette and the ladies of the Biddeford Saco Country Club donated all proceeds from their annual event to SMHC’s Center for Breast Care.

Yet another success, this year’s tournament raised $16,813.85 for SMHC’s Center for Breast Care; making this year the most successful Pink on the Links ever. Overall, the ladies of the Biddeford Saco Country Club have contributed over $126,000 to support care for breast cancer survivors in their community.

Southern Maine Health Care is privileged to be the official beneficiary of funds raised through this event. Our Center for Breast Care patients depends on these funds. Gifts to the Center are instrumental in helping the staff provide important resources and care to their patients during every aspect of their cancer journey; like including educational materials to newly diagnosed women, social worker services to care for those struggling with the diagnosis of breast cancer, support group facilitation, gas station gift cards for patients unable to afford travel, and more.
