PORTLAND, Maine — Maine Medical Partners announces the following new hires.
Katharina Trede, M.D., has joined Maine Medical Center – Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Trede will be working in Emergency Psychiatry serving as Chief of Emergency Psychiatry. She received her medical degree René Descartes University, Necker Enfants Malades Medical School, Paris, France where she also completed a post-doctoral residency in Adult Psychiatry. Here in the states, Dr. Trede completed a clinical fellowship between Cambridge Hospital, Cambridge Massachusetts and then McLean Hospital in Belmont Massachusetts. She completed residency in Psychiatry at Maine Medical Center where she served as chief resident. She comes back to MMC from Beth Israel-Deaconess Medical Center, where she worked in both the emergency department and ran a Latino mental health clinic. She carries an academic appointment as an Instructor in Psychiatry at Harvard University.
Randy Kring, M.D., has joined Maine Medical Center – Emergency Medicine. Dr. Kring received his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, Maine Track. He completed his residency at here at Maine Medical Center where he was Chief Resident. Dr. Kring will be the first Emergency Ultrasound Fellow in our Emergency Department. In his spare time, he enjoys running, cycling, skiing, SCUBA diving and exploring our beautiful state with his wife, Sarah.
Christina DeMatteo, D.O., MPH, has joined Maine Medical Partners – Hospital Medicine. Dr. DeMatteo is Board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease. She recently finished a Preventive Medicine fellowship here at Maine Medical Center, where she also completed her residency and Infectious Disease fellowship. She received her medical degree from University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. DeMatteo’s clinical interests include infection prevention and harm reduction, HIV care and tuberculosis. In her spare time, she enjoys travel and sea kayaking. In addition to her work as a hospitalist, Dr. DeMatteo is also Medical Director of the Portland Public Health Center STD Clinic and Needle Exchange Program, and will be involved in the MMC Tuberculosis and Virology Clinics
Nicholas Dupuis, D.O., has joined Maine Medical Partners – Hospital Medicine. Dr. Dupuis received his medical degree from University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his residency here at Maine Medical Center, where he was Chief Resident. His clinical interests include medical education. In his spare time, Dr. Dupuis likes to spend time with his family.
Colin Phillips, M.D., has joined Maine Medical Partners – MaineHealth Cardiology, with a specialty in interventional cardiology. He completed his clinical and research fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Division of Cardiovascular Disease, in Boston. He was an intern and resident in internal medicine at Beth Israel, along with serving as a primary care chief medical resident at Boston’s VA Medical Center and a clinical fellow in medicine at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Phillips received a doctorate of medicine from the University of California, School of Medicine, in San Diego and a bachelor of science in biochemistry/neurobiology from the University of Washington in Seattle. In 2016, he received the Franz Aepfelbacher, M.D., Award from the Beth Israel Cardiovascular Fellowship Program, which is given to a second-year fellow demonstrating a humanistic approach to cardiovascular care, commitment to fellow trainees and unwavering support of excellence in the clinical care of patients.
Raymond Serrano, M.D., has joined Maine Medical Center – Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Serrano comes to us from Boston VA where he was medical director of Primary Care Behavioral Health for the Department of Psychiatry. He is Board certified in psychiatry and consultation-liaison psychiatry and received his medical degree from Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He completed his residency and fellowship at Boston Medical Center. When Dr. Serrano is not in the hospital, he enjoys running, hiking and spending time with his wife and their two cats.
Meredith Bryden, M.D., has joined Maine Medical Partners – Pediatric Hospital Medicine. Dr. Bryden received her medical degree from University of Vermont College of Medicine and completed her residency here at Maine Medical Center. Dr. Bryden’s clinical interests include caring for refugee patients, procedures and asthma management. In her spare time, she enjoys playing cards, trying out new restaurants and anything involving the ocean.
Michael Zubrow, M.D., has joined Maine Medical Center – Pediatric Critical Care. Dr. Zubrow comes to Maine Medical Center from Bristol Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital. He was an assistant professor at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. Zubrow is Board certified in General Pediatrics and completed a fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He received his medical degree from Stony Brook University School of Medicine. When not in the hospital, Dr. Zubrow enjoys running, hiking, snowboarding and spending time with his wife, daughter and golden retriever.
Jillian Gregory, D.O., has joined Maine Medical Partners – Critical Care, Pediatrics. Dr. Gregory is Board certified in Pediatrics. She received her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. She completed her residency here at Maine Medical Center where she was Chief Resident and her critical care fellowship at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Dr. Gregory’s clinical interests include early mobilization, sleep, delirium and sedation. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, hot yoga and Crossfit.
Rachel Williams, M.D., has joined Maine Medical Center – Emergency Medicine. Dr. Williams received her medical degree from University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She completed her residency here at Maine Medical Center where she was Chief Resident. She most recently completed her fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Dr. Williams’ clinical interests include pediatric emergency medicine, pediatric trauma, quality improvement and emergency protocols. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, playing tennis, cycling and enjoying the Portland restaurant scene.
Bryan Lamoreau, M.D., has joined Maine Medical Partners -- Scarborough Family Medicine. Dr. Lamoreau received his medical degree from University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed a family medicine residency and integrative medicine fellowship here at MMC. Dr. Lamoreau’s clinical interests include medical acupuncture and preventative medicine. When not working, he enjoys running with his colleagues, hiking the White Mountains and spending time with his wife, Lauren, and three-month old, Samson.
Arthur Kehas, M.D., has joined Maine Medical Partners – Hospital Medicine. Dr. Kehas received his medical training from Oregon Health and Science University School of Medicine. He completed his residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Specific clinical interests include nutrition, preventative medicine and health promotion. Outside of work, Dr. Kehas enjoys outdoor activities with his partner and their two dogs, rock climbing, endurance sports and trying to be generally handy.
Lisa Thomas, M.D., has rejoined Maine Medical Partners – MaineHealth Cardiology as an attending cardiologist. Dr. Thomas is a long-time member of the Greater Portland medical community, originally as a partner for twelve years at Maine Cardiology Associates. She then served for three years as an attending cardiologist at Maine Medical Partners, followed by three years at Mercy Cardiology. Dr. Thomas is a Vermont native and a graduate of Dartmouth College and the University of Vermont College of Medicine. She completed her internal medicine residency, chief residency and cardiology fellowship at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.
Jordan Leyton-Mange, M.D., has joined Maine Medical Partners – MaineHealth Cardiology. He was recently a clinical fellow in Cardiac Electrophysiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Division of Cardiology in Boston. He also was a fellow in Cardiovascular Medicine and served as a research fellow and resident at Massachusetts General. His medical degree is from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, and he also holds a bachelor of science degree in bioengineering from Pennsylvania State University. He has received honors from the Heart Failure Society of America and American Heart Association Council on Basic Cardiovascular Sciences. He has been published articles in several journals, including the Journal of Innovation in Cardiac Rhythm Management and Current Treatment Options Cardiovascular Medicine.
Edward Sze, M.D., has joined Maine Medical Partners – MaineHealth Cardiology. Dr. Sze is an attending physician in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cornell University in 2003 and received a Distinction in Research from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2010. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Yale – New Haven Hospital in 2013 and his cardiology fellowship at Duke University in 2016. He is also a 2018 graduate of Duke University’s advanced fellowship in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. Dr. Sze was a winner of a Medtronic MEDUSA Grant for cardiology research, and his work has been published in the Journal of American College of Cardiology, Heart Rhythm, and Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology, among others. Prior to medical school, Dr. Sze worked for Teach For America, teaching sixth grade math in the Bronx and middle school music in Harlem.
Rebecca Harvey, M.D., has joined Maine Medical Partners – Otolaryngology. She received her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She comes to MMP having recently completed her residency at the University of Michigan Health System, Department of Otolaryngology as Assistant Chief Resident. Dr. Harvey’s clinical interests include sleep medicine, rhinology and otology, as well as medical education and simulation. In her spare time, Dr. Harvey enjoys spending time with her family and enjoying the scope of activities that the four seasons of Maine has to offer.
Christopher Withers, M.D., has joined Maine Medical Partners – Hospital Medicine. Dr. Withers received his medical degree from New York Medical College. He completed his internal medicine and pediatrics residency here at Maine Medical Center and was Chief Resident. Dr. Withers clinical interests include global health, pediatric transitions of care and medical education. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling and enjoying all that Maine has to offer with his family.
