Maine Children's Cancer Program Walk
Since 1986, communities across Maine have come together on the third Saturday in September to walk in solidarity with local children fighting cancer and blood disorders. This special event, often referred to as a “family reunion” for our community, provides our patients and families the opportunity to honor those fighting cancer, celebrate those in remission, and remember those who are no longer with us.
Every baseball season, MCCP partners up with the Portland Sea Dogs and other community sponsors to embark on a season-long fundraising program to support the patients at MCCP. In its 27 years, Strike Out Cancer in Kids has raised important awareness surrounding childhood cancer within our community and raised over $5 million to support the patients and families treated at MCCP.
MCCP Maine Marathon Team
Each year, a group of dedicated runners known as Team MCCP lace up to run in support of our young patients and families at MCCP. Whether you run in the Maine Marathon or commit to a Marathon Run Streak Challenge, every mile and every dollar raised counts in the fight against childhood cancer.
Calling all ski, snowboard, and winter lovers – the MCCP Moonlight Challenge is a great way to embrace your love of the great outdoors, all while raising funds and awareness for local kids fighting cancer and blood disorders.
The Sanford Elks Lodge #1470 MCCP Committee holds events throughout the year to raise money and spread awareness. Learn more.
