Blood products are perishable, and the only source of life-saving blood is volunteer blood donors. Is it safe to donate blood during the pandemic?

Yes, blood donation centers have implemented COVID-19 safety measures to protect donors and staff. And the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Food and Drug Administration have also issued statements encouraging blood donation.
