Rebecca Connors

After moving to Maine a few years ago from her native Massachusetts, Rebecca Connors and her husband were ready to start a family. She was understandably nervous when a year ago, her gynecologist identified a cystic mass on one of her ovaries. Rebecca feared that her plans for having a family would be over before they began. Surgery on an ovarian cyst can pose a risk to conception due to potential damage that may occur during removal, affecting the ovary, uterus or nearby fallopian tubes. Her doctors at Western Maine Health referred her to Maine Medical Partners Women’s Health and the cyst was successfully removed.

After a quick recovery process, Rebecca was encouraged to try and conceive and was delighted when a few months later she became pregnant. Coincidentally, almost a year to the day of her surgery, the Connors family welcomed their son Porter. Rebecca sees her experience as a scary time that became a very happy one in short order.  She is grateful for the “amazing” care she received during her health journey becoming a mother.

Rebecca is now back to work and Porter is a delight at almost 9 months old. The Connors family lives in Bethel, Maine, where they lead an active outdoor lifestyle. They enjoying hiking, camping and snowboarding together.
