COVID-19 Testing at SMHC: Starting November 11

How do I get a COVID-19 test at SMHC?

SMHC performs COVID-19 testing for people with (symptomatic) or without (asymptomatic) COVID-19 symptoms. All COVID-19 tests require an appointment to ensure patient and care team safety.

  • Symptomatic Testing: AN APPOINTMENT IS REQUIRED. If you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, make an appointment at our Sanford or Saco Walk-In locations.  All patients and visitors must wear a mask covering both nose and mouth. Visitors are restricted to minors and those requiring assistance.
  • Asymptomatic Testing: AN APPOINTMENT IS REQUIRED. If you do not have COVID-19 symptoms but believe you may have been exposed OR require a test for special circumstances (such as participation in a school or work activity), asymptomatic tests are available by appointment only at our Waterboro location. Most insurance providers will cover the cost of the test.

How do I get my test result?

Test results are available through our patient portal, MyChart. Information on MyChart registration will be provided at the time of the test. Test results for adolescent patients (ages 12-17) are not available via MyChart and should be obtained through their provider’s office.

What should I do if my test result is positive?

Social distancing, wearing a mask, and practicing hand hygiene are still the best way to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Learn more about how to protect yourself and your family.
