Social Worker-Clinical

I am passionate about helping patients to move along the wellness-pain continuum and to help them reconnect to, or discover vitality, health, meaning and purpose. I believe we all have the capacity to evolve and that we all have the ability to change how we are “wired” down to the molecular level by learning, practicing and adapting to new responses to stress or pain. I believe that we all have a “set range” for happiness and that how we respond to stress is a major contributor to us operating at the top or the bottom of our happiness range.

I offer consultation and brief counseling to patients in a local family medicine outpatient office, typically seeing patients for 6-8 sessions. I am very active in the Acceptance and Commitment counseling community and rely on this and the Maine Behavioral Health communities for patients with longer-term needs.

I value life-long learning and am in two book groups, am an exercise nut (so described by my husband) and will ski on any form of water, unless the air temperature is below -5 degrees Fahrenheit.  I am in an eight-hand piano group and love to listen to, dance to or play music, much to the delight or horror of my two daughters.
