I am very passionate about improving the care of older adults. Most of my work is in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. I hope to improve the quality of life of patients whether they are recovering in rehab after a hospitalization, or are there as residents in long-term care or assisted living, by reducing or eliminating unnecessary and harmful medications, treating their pain appropriately, encouraging independence and exercise, aiding in their advance care planning and making sure that they are moving their bowels regularly (yes, that’s big part of what I do, too!).
